Material Handling Supervisor

Location:

Warren, MI

Are you an experienced manufacturing leader with a background in logistics, inventory control, or material handling? We are seeking a Material Handling Supervisor to support daily plant operations by leading warehouse and material flow activities that keep production running efficiently.

Job Duties
  • Lead and supervise material handling, receiving, inventory, and production support teams.
  • Ensure materials are delivered to production lines accurately and on time.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent production delays.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and allocate manpower and resources to maintain production goals.
  • Promote workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage material handling equipment and ensure safe operating procedures are followed.
  • Prepare daily reports related to safety, productivity, inventory, and operational performance.
  • Partner with plant leadership and union representatives to support workforce engagement and resolve concerns.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • Previous supervisory, team lead, manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Must be available to work any shift and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a union manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Public speaking and employee coaching experience preferred.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the facility.
  • Ability to work extended hours as business needs require.
