Material Handling Supervisor
Location:
Warren, MI
Are you an experienced manufacturing leader with a background in logistics, inventory control, or material handling? We are seeking a Material Handling Supervisor to support daily plant operations by leading warehouse and material flow activities that keep production running efficiently.
Job Duties- Lead and supervise material handling, receiving, inventory, and production support teams.
- Ensure materials are delivered to production lines accurately and on time.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent production delays.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and allocate manpower and resources to maintain production goals.
- Promote workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage material handling equipment and ensure safe operating procedures are followed.
- Prepare daily reports related to safety, productivity, inventory, and operational performance.
- Partner with plant leadership and union representatives to support workforce engagement and resolve concerns.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Previous supervisory, team lead, manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Must be available to work any shift and overtime as needed.
- Experience in a union manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Public speaking and employee coaching experience preferred.
- Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment.
- Frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the facility.
- Ability to work extended hours as business needs require.
