Community Engagement VISTA

As an Ameri Corps VISTA member in the Community Engagement and Development role, you will play a crucial part in building and sustaining the capacity of SEEDS to effectively serve our community. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing strategies to enhance community engagement, expand our volunteer base, strengthen partnerships, and identify opportunities that support our mission.

By increasing the organization's visibility, fostering community relationships, and developing resources and systems that strengthen SEEDS programs, you will help ensure that our work addressing the needs of youth and families experiencing poverty can thrive and grow. Your role will be to support leadership and program staff with communications, research, logistics, community outreach, and organizational capacity building to enhance community involvement and support for resilience.

• Represent SEEDS at community events and conduct outreach.
• Develop outreach materials, surveys, and engagement tools.
• Conduct donor research and develop fundraising and engagement resources.
• Research food access, sustainability, circular economies, and resilience.
• Build connections with schools, nonprofits, businesses, and agencies.
• Gather community input through surveys, interviews, and meetings.
• Analyze research to identify program, partnership, and service opportunities.
• Develop guides, templates, training tools, and resource libraries.
• Coordinate staff learning to share VISTA-developed tools and practices.
