Registered Nurse - Post Surgical Ortho - 24 Hours - Midnights

• Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
• Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
• Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
• Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
• Acts as a patient advocate while utilizing the nursing process to plan, deliver, and evaluate goal-focused, individualized, safe, age-specific care for all patients including those with complex pathophysiological needs and/or psychosocial needs.

GPU is a post-surgical unit with a specialty focused on Orthopedic surgery patients. Most of our patients come from PACU after a number of different surgeries including bariatrics, urology, colorectal, orthopedics of course, and a variety of general surgery patients. The rest of our patients come from the ED for general med/surg admissions. 2

GPU is a great unit to hone and expand your nursing skills through the multitude of opportunities allotted to us through our patient population.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
