Description:
Henry Ford St John Hospital’s Operating Room is a 19 room department that supports a variety of service lines, both inpatient and outpatient, including:
General Surgery, Pediatrics, Transplant, Vascular, Plastics, Gynecology, Urology, ENT, Oral Maxillofacial, Robotics, Neurology, Orthopedics, Cardiology and Trauma. Our staff rotates through all service line specialty areas, and typically participates in about 3-6 procedures per shift.
We are operational 24 hours per day, working either 8-hour or 12-hour shifts. Rotating nights, weekends and on call time are required: approximately four total shifts every six-week scheduling period.

- Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
- Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
- Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Qualifications - External
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- BSN preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES
REQUIRED:
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
