Job Title: Metal Grinder – 2nd Shift
Location: Warren, MI 48089
Pay: $20–$28 per hour (DOE) + $3,000 sign‑on bonus and 12% shift differential
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Direct, Full‑Time
As a Metal Grinder, you will:
- Grind, deburr, and finish precision aerospace components to customer specifications.
- Perform edge breaking, radius work, and surface finishing using manual and powered deburring equipment.
- Select the proper grinding and deburring media based on work instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform hand drilling, drill‑press operations, tapping, and light assembly work.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements are met.
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, radius gauges, and thread gauges.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all quality, safety, FAA, and company procedures.
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience in a machining or metalworking environment.
- Experience performing metal grinding, deburring, or surface finishing.
- Ability to use common hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing work instructions.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Experience working with precision‑machined components.
- Familiarity with FAA‑regulated manufacturing or repair environments.
- Experience with quality standards and visual inspection requirements.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Use hand tools throughout the shift.
- Perform bending, reaching, crouching, and repetitive hand movements.
- Work safely around manufacturing equipment.
Qualified candidates will participate in an in‑person interview, which may include a hands‑on skills assessment related to the position. Candidates are encouraged to wear steel‑toe or composite‑toe shoes for the interview. Safety glasses and protective toe caps will be provided if needed.
Employment Requirements- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Candidates must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship (U.S. passport, Real , or birth certificate) during the hiring process.
- Must successfully pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screen.
- Candidates hired into MRO operations are subject to DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements, including random testing.
- Due to federal regulations and/or contractual requirements, this position requires applicants to be U.S. citizens. Proof of citizenship will be required prior to employment.
