Cashiers are the first point of contact for customers and play a key role in maintaining a positive store image. This role is responsible for accurate retail transactions and exceptional customer service while promoting GLA’s mission, vision, and core values.

• Register Operations (70%+ of time) – Operate cash register, scan merchandise, provide suggestive selling, tender transactions, issue refunds, apply loss‑prevention techniques, follow all store policies, engage customers in Ace Rewards, maintain awareness of ads and pricing, answer phones and route calls.
• Sales Floor (≤30% of time) – Greet customers, answer merchandise questions using the S.A.L.E.S. process, locate items, assist with special orders, display and stock merchandise, build displays, mix paint for customers, collect carts, and assist with loading merchandise into customer vehicles.

• Assist in service areas such as chain, rope, key, glass cutting, screen repair, and knife sharpening.
• Follow nightly maintenance checklists for store recovery and cleanliness.
• Refer customer complaints to the appropriate person for resolution.
• Maintain a continuous pattern of regular, prompt attendance and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

• Minimum 16 years of age.
• No prior experience or specific training required.
• Ability to read and interpret written instructions, instruction manuals, and safety rules.
• Effective verbal communication with customers and associates.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Reasoning ability to apply common sense and solve problems with concrete variables.
• Physical ability to walk, use hands, talk, hear, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Requirement for color and close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Regular walking, handling, talking, and hearing.
• Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds with assistance.

• Occasional proximity to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
• Moderate noise level.

$13.73 per hour.
