Job Description
This position serves as the statewide specialist for the hydrogeological aspects of the state's Solid Waste Program. It ensures that all hydrogeological issues related to the program are addressed in accordance with Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy procedures, policy, and law, and that all issues or problems are resolved. The role also has a leadership responsibility in developing policy and procedure, legislation, and rules for Part 115 of the Solid Waste Management Act, and in training and developing district geologists.
The specialist leads the program as it interacts with other divisions and stakeholders on geology and hydrogeology matters.
NOTE: The location of the position will be determined by the selected candidate.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in geology, or in geological, petroleum, mining, engineering, or earth science.
- Experience: Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Geologist, including two years equivalent to a Geologist P11 or one year equivalent to a Geologist P12.
