Position: Security Guard with Security Clearance
Duties
* Perform security guard duties in accordance with appropriate regulations to detect and prevent theft, damage, accident, trespass, sabotage and espionage.
* Enforce the security regulations of the installation.
* Control access of vehicles and pedestrians to installation.
* Verify identification through use of identification cards, badges, biometrics automated records, verbal questioning, and other means.
* Admit persons, denies entry or arranges for escorts, as appropriate.
* Conduct vehicle searches and inspections.
* Conduct foot or vehicle patrol of perimeters, roadways, parking and other high traffic areas. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 MONTHS, extended in 13-month increments, up to a total of 8 YEARS.
* Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.
* IAW AR 190-56, requirements of Individual Reliability Program apply.
* IAW AR 600-85, a DA Form 5019 Condition of Employment must be assigned for mandatory drug testing. Drug testing designated position.
* Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
* Overtime may be required as directed and is subject to recall for periods of emergency overtime.
* Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
* Incumbent must undergo and pass annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability.
* Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
* Employee must be trained and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques and must know first aid.
* Incumbent may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
* Incumbent will be required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT).
* Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. Loss of license may result in removal from the position.
* Must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform IAW AR 190-56, maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene.
* Employee must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
* Must not have any medical condition that precludes the wearing of a chemical protective mask and over garments.
* Employee must be able to perform as a member of the installation's overall security response capability.
* Temporary Duty travel (TDY) may be required up to 25%.
* LAUTENBERG AMENDMENT:
Must meet the requirements under the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Qualifications POSITION IS ANNOUNCED AS A STANDING REGISTER (OPEN CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT):
First cutoff date to evaluate candidates will be June 25, 2026. Application packages received after this date will be evaluated bi-weekly or upon request of management.
