Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician shall perform duties under the general direction of the Facilities Maintenance Manager at the Nestlé Nutrition Fremont site. The technician will work closely with other Maintenance Coordinators and independently maintain, repair, install, and oversee equipment and structures to ensure a safe, consistent, and quality facility. Job duties include installation, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and/or design modifications of facilities and utilities equipment including basic shop safety, plumbing, hydraulic/pneumatic, HVAC, electrical, steam, building construction, network systems, security systems, fire alarm systems, building automation and pest control.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance, install and/or repair facilities and related equipment
  • Participate in a monthly after-hours call rotation to contain and correct emergency situations with minimal damage to the facility
  • Schedule, prioritize and document workload and maintain work records on equipment
  • Attend necessary equipment / systems training to maintain or gain knowledge of ammonia refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, general mechanical, plumbing, network and building management systems
  • Utilize technical materials such as equipment manuals, SDS, safety materials, system and equipment drawings, Process and Instrument Diagrams (PID's), schematics, and blueprints to troubleshoot and maintain systems
  • Perform office relocation tear downs and setups
  • Maintain, install, and repair office furniture, carpet, and conference room equipment
  • Conference room set-up, maintenance, and assistance provided for outside set-up
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of general maintenance experience; experience in Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, and HVAC systems maintenance preferred
  • Functional

    Skills:

    Detail oriented, able to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimum supervision, effective communication skills, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) proficiency; knowledge of Card Access (Honeywell), CCTV, and Building Management Systems (Johnson Controls, Tritium) preferred
