Heavy Equipment Operator, Construction Labor / Trades, General Labor, Maintenance Worker

Job Duties and Responsibilities- Operate various heavy equipment accurately, efficiently and safely.
- Maintain clean work areas around the plant and surrounding areas.
- Lubricate and perform general maintenance on equipment.
- Follow directions given by supervisors.
- Attend weekly safety meetings.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co‑workers, supervisors and the public.
- Travel and work away from home when required.
- Work nights and weekends as necessary.
- Arrive at assigned job sites in proper attire ready to begin work on time.
- Strictly adhere to all safety practices and procedures.
- Comply with all company policies as outlined in the policy book.
- Work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Operate in a 24/7 environment.
- Work 22 hours a day from 2 PM–2 AM with a 2‑hour maintenance overlap.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience operating or working around heavy equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass pre‑employment screening and testing.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Hear and speak effectively to customers or employees.
- Perform basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rate, ratio, percent, and graph interpretation.
- Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Maintain vision for color, close, distance, peripheral, depth, and focus perception.
- Climb, balance, and work on ladders, scaffolds, and stair towers, often with narrow steps and passageways.
- Walk, stand, sit, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, and lift as required.
- Sit and/or stand during an 8‑hour shift on uneven surfaces, including natural ground and slopes, in varying weather conditions.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Carry, lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Operate equipment under extreme temperatures and for extended hours.
- Work a flexible schedule based on project needs and demands.
Work is performed outdoors on site in extreme weather conditions for extended hours. The environment exposes employees to high levels of noise, dirt, grease, and dust. Employees regularly work with or near heavy equipment and moving machinery and may encounter substances such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, asphalt, and concrete. Exposure to vibration, wet and humid conditions, and extreme heat or cold is common.
Noise levels are usually quiet but may require protective equipment. The job may involve walks on uneven surfaces.
