Job Description
Pay: $43.11/hour.
Schedule:
1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM).
Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Journeyman Electrician to support the General Motors Global Technical Center, a large, non‑manufacturing campus listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This role is ideal for an experienced electrician with a strong commercial/industrial background (preferred over residential) who is comfortable working with high‑voltage systems in a complex facilities environment.
UAW Journeyperson Requirements- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems
- Work with high‑voltage systems (up to 480V), power distribution, switch gear, transformers, and UPS systems
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and prints
- Bend and install conduit; pull wire; install electrical fixtures and controls
- Perform root‑cause analysis and advanced electrical troubleshooting
- Utilize CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) for work orders and documentation
- Test electrical components for voltage, current, continuity, and resistance
- Support plant engineering and project teams on equipment installation and upgrades
- Coach and mentor apprentices as assigned
- Operate lifts, forklifts, and work safely at heights
- Follow all GM Global Technical Center and Aramark safety policies

Qualifications- Active State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician license or Journeyman card
- Minimum 7+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of NEC standards and electrical safety practices
- Ability to work independently or as part of a skilled trades team
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills
- Physically capable of performing trade duties, including lifting and working at heights
- This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
