Journeyman Electrician I - GM Warren Annex C - Skilled Trades

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Journeyman Electrician to support the General Motors Global Technical Center, a large, non-manufacturing campus listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This role is ideal for an experienced electrician with a strong commercial/industrial background who is comfortable working with high-voltage systems in a complex facilities environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems
  • Work with high-voltage systems (up to 480V), power distribution, switch gear, transformers, and UPS systems
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and prints
  • Bend and install conduit; pull wire; install electrical fixtures and controls
  • Perform root cause analysis and advanced electrical troubleshooting
  • Utilize CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) for work orders and documentation
  • Test electrical components for voltage, current, continuity, and resistance
  • Support plant engineering and project teams on equipment installation and upgrades
  • Coach and mentor apprentices as assigned
  • Operate lifts, forklifts, and work safely at heights
  • Follow all GM Global Technical Center and Aramark safety policies

Qualifications:

  • Active State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician license or Journeyman card
  • Minimum 7+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC standards and electrical safety practices
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a skilled trades team
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
  • Physically capable of performing trade duties, including lifting and working at heights

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
