Journeyman HVAC I - GM Warren Annex C - Skilled Trades
Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Journeyman HVAC Technician to support the General Motors Global Technical Center, a large, non-manufacturing campus listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This role is ideal for a senior HVAC professional with strong commercial or industrial experience who can support complex mechanical systems in a high-performance facilities environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex HVAC systems across a large industrial campus
- Work with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, heat recovery systems, pumps, fans, VFDs, and refrigeration equipment
- Monitor and adjust HVAC and energy systems to optimize performance and efficiency
- Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical HVAC issues using root cause analysis
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer specifications
- Install, repair, and adjust controls, thermostats, ductwork, piping, and auxiliary equipment
- Respond to system alarms and restore equipment to proper operation
- Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document work
- Work safely at heights and in confined spaces when required
- Mentor apprentices and support other HVAC technicians as needed
- Follow all Aramark and GM Technical Center safety and operating standards
Qualifications:
- Valid State of Michigan HVAC license OR recognized Journeyman Card
- Minimum of 8 years of verifiable HVAC experience in commercial or industrial environments
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a skilled trades team
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
