Diesel Technician

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of refuse trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. In this on-site role, you will perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems to keep equipment safe and road-ready. You will complete preventive maintenance, document all work, and follow strict safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize fleet uptime and reliability.
• Use diagnostic tools, software, and service manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
• Document all repairs, parts used, and inspections in maintenance systems accurately and timely.
• Ensure all work meets safety, environmental, and DOT/compliance standards.
• Collaborate with operations and dispatch to prioritize repairs and reduce vehicle downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and adhere to company safety policies.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current on equipment, technology, and best practices.
