PCSI is looking for a seasoned Electrician. We seek a motivated and friendly team member to provide electrical installation, maintenance, and repair services for the facility’s electrical system. The right person will be proactive and take pride in their accomplishments. This position will report to the Lead Electrician at Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI.
This position is a union position that starts at $53.32, with annual increases, full benefits, paid federal holidays, and health & welfare.

What You'll Do as an Electrician:

Job Functions:
Participation in the Performance Evaluation program is required.
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain low to medium voltage electrical systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on transformers, switch gear, breakers, relays, panel boards, and distribution systems.
- Support planned electrical outages and performed annual inspections of electrical distribution equipment, including work performed during weekdays, weekends and holidays.
- Maintain and repair interior and exterior lighting systems, emergency lighting units, exit signs, lamps, ballasts, and fixtures.
- Operate, inspect, test, and maintain emergency generators and automatic transfer switches (ATS) including supporting load testing.
- Will be required to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install conduit, inserts, splicing and connecting wire to fixtures, outlets, switches receptacles and power sources.
- Record operating data, maintenance activities, equipment deficiencies, and corrective actions in maintenance management systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings (ISOs), material takeoffs, field sketches, and specifications.
- Follow established safety practices and procedures including all OSHA, NFPA, NEC, lockout/tagout, and arc-flash safety requirements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergency service calls as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Requires High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
- Minimum four (4) years recent/relevant experience as a maintenance electrician with a working knowledge of all national, state and local electrical codes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be willing and able to successfully and safely wear all protective gear, respirators as required by PCSI and all federal, state and local regulations.
- Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in the various areas of assignment and use of required tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with maintenance personnel, subcontractors, and government representatives.
