Position Overview

We are seeking a .NET Application Engineer to join the Work Management team within the application space. This team consists of seven application teams responsible for custom software development, application configuration, Dev Ops, and ongoing application support and maintenance.

This position is part of a growing pipeline of work and will help backfill team members who are transitioning into other roles. The team is currently undergoing an Agile transformation focused on improving delivery, collaboration, and business value.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable balancing new feature development with application support and operational responsibilities. You will own assigned application subdomains throughout the development lifecycle, including ongoing maintenance and production support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in daily Agile standup meetings and communicate progress, priorities, and blockers.
  • Review completed work and plan daily development priorities.
  • Pair with other engineers on development and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Review, maintain, and prioritize the team backlog.
  • Develop and deliver new features within assigned application domains.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications while supporting new product development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production bugs, incidents, and application issues.
  • Support application deployments and Dev Ops processes.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and improvements.
  • Participate in architecture, technical design, and application engineering discussions.
  • Collaborate with team members on technical solutions and development best practices.
  • Balance feature development, application support, and operational responsibilities.
  • Participate in test-driven development and ensure quality through automated testing.
  • Mentor and coach newer or less-experienced team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver business value.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience with .NET 5+ development
    .
  • Experience with React and/or Angular
    .
  • Experience supporting production applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including production incidents and bug resolution.
  • Experience with Dev Ops practices and CI/CD deployment pipelines
    .
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
    .
  • Hands‑on experience with Test‑Driven Development (TDD).
  • Experience with pair programming and collaborative development practices
    .
  • Ability to balance ongoing application maintenance with new feature development.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching junior/less-experienced engineers.

  • Collaborative architecture and technical design

Interview Process
1st Interview – Remote Pairing Assessment

Initial remote pairing/technical assessment. Candidates should be prepared to confirm their ability and willingness to work onsite in Jackson, MI, Tuesday through Thursday

2nd Interview – Remote Coding Exercise

Candidates will complete a coding exercise using an IDE, working code on their own machine, or a company-provided machine.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on software engineer who enjoys both building new functionality and owning applications in production
. They should be comfortable working collaboratively through pair programming, TDD, Agile practices, Dev Ops, troubleshooting, and technical design discussions.
