Shipping Clerk

Location: Warren, Michigan

Shift: 1st Shift (1:00 PM – 9:00 PM)

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and processing incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accurate and timely delivery to our customers at the Warren Facility. This role is scheduled for the 1:00 PM-9:00 PM shift.

• Ensure FIFO for all outgoing finished goods.
• Manage the shipment of all products, materials, and supplies (scheduling).
• Maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments with correct paperwork.
• Send an ASN (advance shipping notification) to all applicable customers once a shipment leaves.
• Collaborate and communicate with MMI’s team, management, customers, and other involved parties.
• Support shippers on any work‑related needs or issues.
• Utilize knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Track, trace, and update the status of shipments.
• Maintain and oversee shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other shipping records to understand priorities and assignments.
• Load and unload trucks with a forklift as needed, ensuring the proper load is placed on the proper truck.
• Position requires extensive reaching, lifting, and climbing on and off a forklift regularly throughout the shift; certain jobs may require the operation of manual and power hand tools.

• Clear communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience scanning and sorting outgoing stock.
• Experience pulling, packing, and loading.
• Ability to work independently within a team.
• Strong sense of time management and organizational skills.
• Forklift experience.
• Knowledge and experience in shipping and receiving.
• 2 years supervisory experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in shipping and receiving.
• Compliance with quality management standards and safety procedures.
