• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Experience preferred, but training will be provided.

• Sub bus driver trainee, training rate (no CDL) $21.00/hr.
• Sub bus driver trainee, training rate (with CDL) $22.00/hr.
• Sub bus driver, hourly rate (completion of GDTP Levels 1-5) $23.00/hr.
• Regular bus driver hourly rate (step 1-10) $23.00 - $29.20/hr.

Note:

This graduated pay schedule is designed to provide incentive for timely completion of obtaining a CDL and for timely completion of the first five levels of the Graduated Driver Training Program (GDTP).

• New hires: $500 after 50 school days; $1,000 after 180 school days.
• Regular bus drivers:
  Incentive based on sick days used during three periods:
• First day of school year through Nov 30:
  Zero days $200;
  One day $100.
• Dec 1 through last school day before Spring Break:
  Zero days $200;
  One day $100.
• Spring Break through last school day of school year:
  Zero days $200;
  One day $100.

• 5 days of pay during Spring Break (paid time off) + 2 additional days during Winter Holiday Break (if 6+ years).
• 3 personal paid days during school year.
• 2 paid snow days when used; can use accrued personal or sick time for additional snow days (up to legal maximum).
• Sick leave accrues monthly; eligible for MPSERS retirement.
• Vision & dental insurance, other health benefits available; or cash in lieu option (if 30+ hours/week).
• Can work in West Ottawa Food Service dept to increase hours to 30+ per week.
• Can supplement income by taking day or night trips at full pay for driving time with wait time.

• Must meet medical standards per 49
