Supervisor of Special Education and Related Services
Warren City Schools – Warren, Ohio
Job DescriptionSupervisor of Special Education & Related Services – Oversee identification, assessment, and service delivery for students with disabilities; coordinate IEPs, MTSS, and assist with district-wide programs.
Minimum Qualifications- Valid Ohio Administrative Specialist or Supervisory certificate/license appropriate to the administrative position.
- Master's degree or higher in Educational Administration or Special Education.
- Minimum five years’ experience in special education/related services as a teacher or administrator.
- Knowledge of federal and state education law, Ohio Improvement Process, and best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of student identification and assessment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Exemplary leadership qualities and strong work ethic.
- Exceptional attendance record.
- OTES 2.0 credentialed; OPES preferred.
- Successful BCII and FBI background check.
- Experience and training in Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
- Advanced knowledge of characteristics of students with special needs.
- Experience in IAT/MTSS and child find activities.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience in program development.
- Demonstrated collaboration and consultation skills.
- Experience conducting in‑services and professional development activities.
- Knowledge of local report cards, local assessments, and other data sources related to achievement of students with disabilities.
- Coordinate/assist identification of students with disabilities.
- Coordinate delivery of services to students with disabilities with building and district personnel.
- Gather and analyze data related to achievement of students with disabilities.
- Promote, develop, and coordinate inclusive programs for students with disabilities.
- Serve as district representative and facilitator at IEP and MFE meetings.
- Coordinate delivery of services to resident students with disabilities attending other districts.
- Supervise and evaluate all personnel, direct service and related service personnel.
- Assist in determination of goals to improve performance.
- Conduct and facilitate instructional rounds for certificated staff members.
- Assist in child find and child count activities.
- Coordinate the IAT/MTSS process.
- Conduct in‑services and professional development activities related to delivery of services to students with disabilities.
- Assist in development of department goals.
- Work cooperatively with teachers, principals, and district staff.
- Consult and collaborate with local social service agencies.
- Consult and collaborate with parents.
- Abide by rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Warren City School District Board of Education.
- Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent, Associate Superintendent, Director of Special Education, and/or designee.
Salary Table C, less than 52 weeks.
Schedule:
July to June, 224 days annually.
