Position: PK-8 Assistant Principal - Champion Local Schools

PK‑8 Assistant Principal – Champion Local Schools

Position:
Full‑time PK‑8 Assistant Principal (8 hours per day)

Effective Date: 2026‑2027 School Year

Anticipated Starting Date:
August 2026

Assignment:
Champion Central Elementary and Champion Middle School, Warren, Ohio, Trumbull County.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ohio Principal Certification/Licensure for PK‑6 and 4‑9
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a teacher or administrator
  • Knowledge of current trends and development in education
  • OTES credentialed
  • Demonstrated leadership characteristics
Duties
  • Assists in establishing goals and objectives for the school.
  • Provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs.
  • Represents the building administrative team on school district committees as assigned.
  • Manages specific academic departments/programs as directed.
  • Assists staff with individual needs.
  • Evaluates personnel and assists in determining goals to improve performance.
  • Assists in directing, supervising, and evaluating the building instructional program.
  • Supports teachers in implementing the curriculum and improves instructional quality.
  • Provides leadership to support the professional growth of all staff.
  • Develops and administers PBIS programs for staff and students.
  • Supervises extra‑ and co‑curricular activities in school and after school.
  • Establishes and enforces fair disciplinary procedures ensuring due process for students.
  • Directs the Absence Intervention Team to identify, track, and support students with chronic absenteeism.
  • Develops and implements proactive strategies, incentives, and action plans to improve daily student attendance.
  • Partners with parents, counselors, and community resources to remove barriers to regular school attendance.
  • Participates in professional growth activities.
Contract and Salary

Contract:

198 days per school year.

Salary:
Per board‑approved administrative salary schedule.
