Field Service Engineer - Power Control Equipment

Position Overview

At Russ electric®, a Siemens business, we design and build custom power control systems for critical facilities such as data centers, telecommunications, and healthcare. This role is for a Field Service Engineer based in the Erie, PA area.

• Perform automatic transfer switch startups, modifications, warranty and emergency calls.
• Provide technical support of field startups (standard and non‑standard systems), warranty efforts, remedial repairs, and preventative maintenance contracts.
• Supervise and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines, and laws.
• Communicate with clients in a customer‑service oriented manner and negotiate extra charges where appropriate.
• Travel up to 80% of the time and be available on call 24/7 with a personal cell phone.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years experience in field‑service engineering and electrical power for critical facilities.
• Experience with automatic transfer switch testing and reading schematics/blueprints.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and industry standards.
• Strong project‑management, decision‑making, and customer‑satisfaction skills.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

• 5+ years field service in power distribution/protection industry.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Excellent customer service, time‑management, and follow‑up skills.
• Knowledge of power distribution, DC/AC, voltage circuit theory, and practical troubleshooting.
