Are you a pre-med student taking a gap year before medical school? Looking for hands-on clinical experience to strengthen your application and gain real-world exposure to patient care? ONE Health Ohio is seeking a Part-Time Medical scribe to join our team!

Position Overview:

ONE Health Ohio is seeking a medical scribe to perform all clerical and information technology functions for a physician in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and staff.
• Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician, including but not limited to:
  • Patient medical history and physical exam, Procedures, and treatments performed by healthcare professionals, including nurses and physician assistants.
  • Patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
  • Physician-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions, and instructions for patient or family members for self-care and follow-up.
• Dictation/faxing/phone calls and clerical tasks. Medical Scribes are asked to prepare referral letters as directed by the physician, via dictation or summary of the medical record. Medical Scribe also ensures that letters are mailed or faxed on a daily basis to all physicians involved in a patient’s care and with all copies of pertinent reports or tests attached.
• Medical Scribes collect, organize and catalog data for physician quality reporting system and other quality improvement efforts and format for submission. You will assist in developing and maintaining systems to track patient follow-up and compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred.
• Medical Scribe Certification
• Uphold One Health Ohio’s core values and policies.

• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude in all interactions.
• Exhibit flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing tasks.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring finger dexterity.
• Communication skills using the spoken word
