Assistant Warehouse Manager – Master Distribution Center Job Summary
Trumbull Industries, Inc is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager – Master Distribution Center. Position supports the overall operations of the distribution facility to ensure efficient receiving, storage, inventory management, and dispatch of goods. This role assists in managing staff, maintaining safety standards, optimizing processes, and ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities Operations Management- Assist in managing day-to-day warehouse and distribution center operations.
- Ensure timely receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods.
- Monitor workflow to meet productivity, accuracy, and service level targets.
- Coordinate with transportation teams for timely shipment deliveries.
- Support implementation of operational policies and procedures.
- Supervise warehouse staff and team leads during assigned shifts.
- Assist in scheduling, training, and performance management of employees.
- Promote a positive work environment and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Address operational issues and elevate when necessary.
- Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits.
- Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies.
- Ensure proper documentation and system updates in WMS/ERP.
- Support loss prevention and shrinkage control initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct safety briefings and enforce safe work practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the facility.
- Assist in investigations of incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Identify areas for operational improvement and cost reduction.
- Monitor KPIs such as order accuracy, on-time dispatch, inventory accuracy, and productivity.
- Prepare daily/weekly operational reports.
- Maintain records related to shipments, returns, damages, and inventory.
- Assist in budget monitoring and cost control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 3–6 years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts and weekends if required.
