Job Overview

At Schaefer Equipment, you will work independently or as part of a team to produce high‑quality work pieces. The role involves operating a variety of industrial machines—including hammers, presses, upsetters, bulldozers, shears, drills, and grinders—to complete assigned tasks. You will perform multiple duties throughout the manufacturing process to ensure parts are produced safely, accurately, and efficiently.

• Operate a variety of assigned machines—hammers, presses, drills, and grinders—to produce parts according to established specifications and engineering drawings.
• Review and interpret blueprints for parts and/or dies to ensure all components are manufactured within quality standards.
• Verify that machined work pieces meet required specifications and may support special projects.
• Follow instructions from group or crew leader and perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 3 months of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and follow all quality process/work instructions, production schedules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must obey all safety rules and wear all proper personal protective equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers.
• Drug screen and fitness for duty test required.

• Regularly lift or move up to 65 pounds.
• Work safely in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Wear personal protective equipment, e.g., safety glasses, gloves, earplugs, and steel‑toed boots.
• Walk, climb, stoop, bend, lift, and use hand tools as necessary.

The salary rate for this role is $20 per hour. The base pay range is subject to change. Benefits, including health, welfare, and retirement, are available at  and may include an annual bonus if eligible.
