Position
Description:
The Formation Production Control and Logistics team at Ultium Cells manages the entire process of production from work-in-process to finished goods. The Formation Logistics Supervisor role is an integral part of delivering final process cells to Material Logistics team for the final shipment to the customer. This position is responsible for supervising and providing guidance for staff, overseeing daily and monthly inventory assessments, monitoring finished goods availability and collaborating with engineering to perform sorting activities of finished goods cells.
Additionally, the Formation Logistics Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring timely release of material to meet company targets by working cross-functionally with multiple departments.
Job Responsibilities:
* Supervise Formation Production Control & Logistics team members; creating safe and effective work environment
* Adhere to DOT and Dangerous Goods shipping regulations
* Prepare shipping paperwork for finished goods to meet customer requirements
* Maintain shipping document retention of shipping papers
* Evaluate finished goods inventories to ensure material availability for shipment targets; using multiple IT systems (GMES, WMS, QMS, ERP, CIM, FA, Microsoft suite)
* Synchronize information flow between multiple IT systems, analyzing gaps
* Host cross-functional plant meetings to gain insight and mitigate supply bottlenecks
* Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
* Work closely with Quality and Formation Production teams to complete all necessary inspections in a timely manner, in order to release material for shipment
* Support and train team to inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
* Plan and establish work schedules and assignments to meet production goals
* Monitor storage capacity (floor and racking system) for continuous flow of Finished Goods and End-of-Line production
* Promptly collaborate with Material Logistics and IT teams to remedy capacity and/or technical issues with racking system
* Adhere to FIFO best-practices for inventory aging purposes
* Oversee and complete daily and monthly inventory evaluations
* Manage finished goods inventory sorting projects, working closely with engineering
* Ensure timely removal of scrap material within the department
* Manage proper level of trays within conveyor system, including any introduction of new tray type and removal of old
* Responsible for maintaining Formation finished goods inventory area
Required Qualifications and
Competencies:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electronic, Chemical, Material Engineering, etc.) or equivalent work experience
* Strong interest in automotive industry and basic understanding of manufacturing process
* Strong computer skills required; including ERP, Excel, PowerPoint, and Manufacturing Legacy System
* Highly analytical problem-solving abilities; accounting for multiple metrics at once
* Detail-oriented
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work cross-functionally
* Willingness to engage in manual work when necessary, such as inventory verification
Preferred Qualifications and
Competencies:
* Master's degree from an accredited university
* 3-5 years of experience in automotive industry
* 3-5 years of supervisory experience
* 3-5 years of supply chain or manufacturing operation experience
* CPIM or CSCP certificates
