Summary- Schedule timely arrangement of customer orders by producing new product or pulling from stocked product in accord with shipping schedules.
- Structure the production schedule to maximize production efficiencies with large material runs/minimal downtime for changeovers while meeting customer needs.
- Reports to Plant Manager.
- Assign production dates to sales orders.
- Meet shipping deadlines to obtain repeat business from satisfied customers.
- Contribute to profit by scheduling to minimize downtime and maximize run times.
- Use Smartcom software accurately to communicate order information to mill operators.
- Communicate internally with sales, production, and shipping to satisfy customer needs.
- Apply proper inventory control methods to utilize and rotate old inventory.
- Recognize special lead times for specific geographic areas to meet shipping schedules.
- Gather changeover data and analyze to create and assess benchmarks for efficiencies.
- Manage min/max levels of all finished goods inventory.
- Perform any other duties required by supervisor.
- Work safely and follow all safety rules and operational procedures.
- Wear and maintain all required PPE.
- Keep assigned work area clean at all times.
- Understand all safety devices and their operation; notify management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operation.
- Safely operate all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Problem solver.
- Team oriented.
- Associate's degree in business or related discipline preferred.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing as it relates to raw and finished goods.
- Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks; basic understanding of the rollform process, system, part numbers, production capacities, and capabilities.
- Competent in all general computer skills.
- The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and experience.
- Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and converting fractions into decimals.
- Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper accurately.
- Manufacturing facility – exposed to heat and cold.
- Personal Protective Equipment required at all times.
- Noise controlled environment.
- High activity level – continuous overhead crane and forklift movement.
