Assistant in Training / Spray Technician

Avalon Lakes Golf Course is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our agronomy team as an Assistant in Training / Spray Technician
. This position is ideal for someone looking to begin or advance a career in golf course management while gaining hands-on experience in turf maintenance and spray operations.

The Assistant in Training / Spray Technician will work alongside the Superintendent to support daily golf course maintenance and learn leadership responsibilities while serving as the primary spray technician. Training and mentorship will be provided to help the right candidate grow into a future leadership role.

• Assist with daily golf course maintenance activities
• Help lead and direct crew members during assigned tasks
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and turf products under proper guidance and training
• Learn to calibrate, operate, and maintain spray equipment
• Maintain accurate application and inventory records
• Observe and report course conditions to management
• Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines
• Perform general course maintenance duties as needed

• Interest in golf course maintenance or turfgrass management
• Previous golf course or outdoor work experience helpful, but not required
• Ohio Pesticide Applicator License preferred (or willingness to obtain with employer support)
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
• Team-oriented attitude with attention to detail
