Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Dock Worker to safely and efficiently load and unload freight, ensuring on-time delivery and supporting warehouse operations.
- Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift, pallet jack, or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines.
- Apply various loading techniques, including tight and cross loading.
- Transport and position freight throughout the service center on non‑forgiving surfaces.
- Use Dock Yard Management System to monitor freight shipment locations.
- Read and interpret shipping labels and complete freight movement forms (shipping orders, city stripping manifests, freight bills, overage/damage movement reports, exception forms).
- Handle freight—hand load, rewrap or stack—as necessary to ensure consistent trailer loading quality.
- Secure freight in trailers using pallets, straps, rope, airbags, and cardboard.
- Maintain frequent contact with service center personnel, working at a fast pace to meet deadlines.
- Execute any other duties or tasks assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures, including all aspects of freight transportation and loading techniques.
- Experience with freight movement forms and Dock Yard Management System navigation.
- Ability to operate hand‑held tablets when needed.
- Availability to work at all times to meet customer pickup and delivery schedules.
Employees must be able to read, write, and speak English. Physical tasks include standing up to 8 hours per shift, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, lifting, pushing, and pulling freight weighing up to 500 lbs. Individuals must be able to operate a forklift, handle cartons and equipment in wet or slippery conditions, and perform repetitive motions such as shrink‑wrapping and strapping.
Work EnvironmentThe role involves exposure to various work environments, including loading/unloading areas, enclosed vehicles and trailers, all weather conditions, and noise levels ranging from quiet to loud. Lighting may vary from extremely bright to very low light.

Monday through Friday
