Shift supervisor, Warehouse

Trumbull Industries, Inc. is a leading wholesale distributor headquartered in Warren, Ohio.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a 2nd shift Supervisor at our MDC facility located in Warren, Ohio. The responsibilities for this position include directing and coordinating all shipping, dispatch and front dock supervisory functions for the Master Distribution Center on the afternoon shift. Other responsibilities of this position include:

• Supervise, coach, and develop the hourly workforce of 5 to 10 warehouse associates who handle the shipping on 2nd shift and those responsible for transfer/inter-branch receiving and stocking.
• Take action during the shift for any delayed shipments whether shipping on Trumbull truck or via third party carrier.
• Communicate and work as a team member with all MDC supervisors and managers.
• Maintain knowledge of Trumbull's advanced warehousing system and utilize it to print and batch sales orders and allocate transfers multiple times daily.
• Prioritize parcel shipments for same day shipping. Assign workers to pick, pack, and process orders until parcel cutoff times.
• Research all short ships and communicate the findings daily to the affected sales team members, buyers and to warehouse management.
• Monitor the Trumbull fleet of trucks to ensure security and maintenance, including ensuring that engine heaters are plugged in during cold weather.
• Lock and secure the perimeter of the building.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience in a logistics or warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and proficiency in using relevant software applications.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and operate material handling equipment.
