In this role, you won’t just provide support, you’ll be a trusted guide, advocate, and bridge between individuals and the services they need to thrive. This is a hands‑on, community‑based position requiring regular travel and active outreach. You’ll be working directly in the environments where people live and access services, making your impact immediate and tangible.
What You’ll Do- Provide one‑on‑one recovery coaching in community settings
- Build trusting relationships using lived experience to inspire growth and resilience
- Help individuals and families overcome barriers to accessing care
- Guide individuals through healthcare, housing, employment, and social services
- Coordinate referrals and ensure continuity of care
- Support engagement in recovery meetings and ongoing services
- Conduct outreach in shelters, community hubs, and other key locations
- Lead strength‑based conversations that promote self‑determination
- Deliver Naloxone (Narcan) education and support harm reduction efforts
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and community partners
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (Rhode Island) or willingness to obtain within 1 year of employment
- Lived experience in recovery and ability to apply recovery principles professionally
- 2–3 years’ experience in recovery support, outreach, or behavioral health
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally
- Compassionate, non‑judgmental, and relationship‑focused
- Skilled at building trust with diverse populations
- Adaptable and confident working in dynamic community environments
- Organized and committed to quality, compliance, and client care
- Certified Recovery Coach credential
- Experience with Recovery Systems of Care or SAMHSA‑aligned models
- Knowledge of harm reduction and overdose prevention strategies
