Manufacturing Operator II
Manufacturing Operator II – located in Warren, RI. In this hands‑on role you set up, operate, adjust and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, including manual, semi‑automated, and CNC machines to produce precision components that meet quality and production requirements. You work from part drawings, setup sheets, work orders and process instructions to determine specifications, tooling and operational sequences while maintaining compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards.
The role requires a high level of independence, applying prior manufacturing knowledge to solve routine production issues, making machine offsets and process adjustments, verifying product conformance through measurement and inspection, and supporting efficient workflow across multiple operations or cells. This position is ideal for an individual with manufacturing experience who is ready to build on foundational skills, contribute to continuous improvement and support the production of mission‑critical aerospace products in a fast‑paced environment.
EssentialFunctions
- Produce products on various CNC or manual machines to meet or exceed production standards.
- Independently perform machine set‑up, operation, changeover and basic troubleshooting.
- Run multiple machines as required by process or as directed.
- Make machine tool offsets or process adjustments as needed to maintain print specifications.
- Load and unload machines in accordance with cycle time goals and standard work.
- Study part drawings, setup sheets, work order instructions and other necessary process instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements and operational sequences.
- Perform in‑process inspections and measurement tasks to verify product is within required specifications.
- Maintain visual quality of the product by inspecting for defects such as dents, burrs, scratches and other nonconformances.
- Operate moderately complex, mechanically operated machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic equipment care as required.
- Assist in training Manufacturing Operator I employees on basic machine operation, inspection methods and standard work as directed.
- Work safely by following all safety rules; stop work if an unsafe condition is identified; report safety concerns immediately to management.
- Take initiative and make decisions based on known policies, procedures and production priorities with minimal supervision.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify production, quality or equipment problems and communicate them to cell lead or Production Foreman in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation and collaborate with management staff and Production Foreman.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in designated work area throughout shift.
- Cross‑train in various operations and cells as needed.
- Support workflow efficiency by helping balance work across machines or operations as directed.
- Handle and store Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) appropriately to prevent unauthorized access, dissemination or use.
- Support all visitor and security policies to protect ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI information, documents, product, etc. from unauthorized access by promptly informing management of any concerns.
- Properly handle and manage hazardous waste generated in employee’s work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and acceptable attendance.
