Position: Manufacturing Operator I

Magnetic Seal is currently seeking a motivated Entry-Level Manufacturing Operator to join our team in Warren, RI. This hands-on role supports the production of precision components by performing routine setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment, conducting preventive maintenance, following detailed work instructions and quality standards, and contributing to a safe, efficient production environment. No prior manufacturing experience is required – we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.

Essential Functions
  • Produce product on various CNC or manual machines to meet or exceed production standards.
  • Learn basic machine operation, setup, and maintenance under guidance.
  • Operate multiple machines as required.
  • Make machine tool offsets or adjustments as needed to maintain specifications.
  • Load and unload machines per cycle-time goals.
  • Study part drawings, set-up sheets, work order instructions to determine product specs, tool requirements, and operational sequences.
  • Perform basic measurement tasks to verify product is within required specifications.
  • Inspect for defects such as dents, burrs, scratches to maintain visual quality.
  • Operate machinery safely, following all safety rules.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, stop work, and report safety concerns.
  • Initiate decisions based on policies with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Notify supervisor of production problems.
  • Maintain documentation and collaborate with management.
  • Keep work area clean throughout shift.
  • Cross-train in various operations as needed.
  • Lead fixture and tooling projects for new or existing product.
  • Perform other tasks as needed by management.
  • Store and handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) appropriately.
  • Support visitor and security policies to protect ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI information.
  • Handle hazardous waste properly.
  • Adhere to attendance expectations.

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior schooling in Machine Technology, Manufacturing or Machining preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to stand, walk, sit, and bend, twist, squat, kneel as required.
  • Reach outward and above shoulder occasionally.
  • Use fine manipulation.
  • Read and write in English.
  • Push/pull and lift/carry ability ranges up to 50 lbs.
  • Visual acuity for detail and color.
  • May come into contact with chemicals.
Work Environment and Safety Equipment
  • Manufacturing shop atmosphere with open floor space; can be noisy; climate controlled.
  • Work onsite as business needs dictate.
  • Wear required PPE constantly.
ITAR/EAR Compliance

This position requires access to export-controlled information and/or hardware; candidates must be US Persons compliant with all US Export control laws and regulations. US citizenship, lawful permanent resident status, protected person status, or other compliance is required.

Base Compensation

USD $20.00 to $22.00 paid hourly, based on experience.
