Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is responsible for promoting the Quality Management System and ensuring compliance with internal, customer and industry requirements. The Quality Engineer will oversee the Internal Audit Program, complete validation on inspection measurement systems, and analyze the companies Quality Metrics. They will emphasize risk-based thinking and promote continual process improvement. Working closely with the Quality Technician's they will coordinate and support product release testing, document non-conformities, and support with implementing corrective actions.

The Quality Engineer is also responsible for overseeing the completion of other tasks that are also associated with a Quality Technician (Calibration, CMM programming, Testing, First Article, Dimensional Reporting, etc.) and will collaborate with the Supply Chain Management Team to monitor Supplier Quality Performance.

Our Facility in Warren, RI is responsible for engineering and manufacturing some of the world's most advanced sealing solutions.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Acts in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment. Background in Mechanical Engineering with Basic CAD understanding. Ability to read and understand technical drawings (blueprints). Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, ERP Systems, Document Control and Inspection software other SPC databases. Able to learn additional programs as needed. Direct technical skills in reference to the equipment in the cell.

Complete all work in a swift and timely fashion with high quality result. Demonstrates a safety first thought process. Perform work accurately and thoroughly. Communicate effectively with others both verbally and in written form. Act in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment. Make decisions while following company procedures. Use critical thinking and reasoning to solve problems.

Attention to details, accepts responsibility and adapts to change easily. Demonstrate honesty, integrity and conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards. Able to work independently with minimal supervisor and work and interact well with others when working in teams. Possesses strong self-motivation and processes work in an efficient and timely fashion. Local to the Rhode Island facility.

Required Experience/Education/Training/

Certifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or another related technical field preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or manufacturing in a regulated industry is required. ASQ Quality Engineer Certification preferred. SAE 13001 DPRV Certification preferred. SAE AS9100 Auditor Certification preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements:

Able to stand, walk and sit frequently. Able to bend, squat and kneel occasionally. Able to reach outward frequently and reach above shoulder occasionally. Able to use fine manipulation occasionally. Finger dexterity to rotate parts as needed. Able to read and write in English. Able to lift/carry up to 20 lbs. frequently. Able to push/pull up to 20lbs occasionally. Able to push/pull and lift/carry from 21 to 50 lbs.
