The student office assistant will serve as the Harmon College Business and Professional Studies (HCBPS) front desk receptionist and creative assistant to the full‑time personnel within the Dean's suite. This will include the responsibilities of serving as the Dean's office first point of contact to greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and other visitors, while actively contributing to the college’s internal and external communications through graphic design and marketing support.
DutiesInclude
- Creative & Digital Support:
Assist with content preparation for digital displays or college communication channels. - Assist with the creation, design, and distribution of print and digital marketing materials, including event flyers, newsletters, promotional materials, and electronic communications.
- Daily Reception:
Address questions in person, over the phone, and via electronic means. - Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Administrative Tasks:
Perform general clerical tasks such as scanning, copying, filing, shredding, and checking mail. - Act as a liaison for the Administrative Assistant.
- Facility Coordination:
Assist with reserving classrooms and study rooms, opening/closing designated building rooms and offices, and preparing the conference room for meetings. - Event Assistance:
Assist with the coordination, promotion, and hosting of Harmon College events and other special projects. - Confidentiality:
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all organizational and university information.
- Position is open to undergraduate (Freshman-Junior standing) students only with a minimum GPA of 2.75.
- Knowledge of Google Workspace applications (Google Drive, Slides, Docs, Sheets, etc.).
- Familiarity with graphic design platforms (such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
- Experience drafting digital newsletters or promotional layouts.
- Ability to suggest creative process improvement ideas for office workflows.
- Attention to detail and a creative eye for design.
- 20 hours per week; M-F.
