The Department of Human Services, Human Development and Family Science program, at the University of Central Missouri, invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor position (997300) in the Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Development and Family Science graduate program. The tenure-track position will begin August 2025.
Candidates should provide evidence of developing a research program, demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, engagement in service/outreach, ability to advance the department’s commitment to diversity, excellent team collaboration skills, competency in instructional technology, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Responsibilities include teaching, research, service, clinical supervision, advisement, recruitment, and networking with professionals in the field. The position will support the facilitation of the Marriage and Family Therapy specialization within the program.
Responsibilities:- Teach graduate courses in marriage and family therapy and undergraduate courses in human development and family science.
- Engage in scholarly activities such as presentations, grants, and publications, which are necessary for promotion and tenure.
- Participate in professional service to the program, department, university, and professional organizations.
- Utilize technology and teach online courses; summer teaching opportunities may be available.
- Earned doctorate in marriage and family therapy, couple counseling, human development, family studies, or a related field (ABD considered for the assistant professor position).
- Hold a license to practice MFT and be an approved supervisor with AAMFT or a candidate.
- Preference given to candidates with teaching experience, MFT program development, and/or clinic management.
