Primary Responsibilities:
To provide a quality instructional program managing the operation of the school program, personnel, and facilities for the benefit of students.
ESSENTIAL JOB
SKILLS:
INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP
* Ensure implementation of Section 504 procedures for all Warrensburg R-VI School District Schools.
* Determine appropriate Section 504 team composition.
* Receives the 504 referral and initiates the 504 evaluation.
* Is responsible for ensuring the completion of the evaluation, which includes gathering relevant data including but not limited to parent input, teacher input, medical documentation, educational documentation.
* Sets up the 504 eligibility meeting by contacting and inviting parents/guardians and determines and invites additional appropriate 504 team members.
* Leads the 504 meeting and fills out the appropriate paperwork at the meeting.
* Ensures that copies of the 504 plans are provided to all staff expected to implement the plan.
* Ensures the original 504 plans and related documents are scanned into our data system.
* Sets up a tracking system for all 504 plans in the building, and initiates the 3-year reevaluation when it is due.
* Assure that Section 504 plans move with the student to the next level or new school.
* Serve as a daily resource to the building administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, and community members regarding Section 504 issues.
* Advises the school administrator regarding discipline issues and procedures for Section 504 eligible students.
* Serves as a liaison between the school building and other district staff regarding Section 504 issues.
SCHOOL MANAGEMENT
* Provides for effective day by day operation of the Section 504 program.
* Promotes and maintains a positive school climate by implementing Warrensburg R-VI School Discipline policy.
* Demonstrates effective problem solving and decision making skills.
* Demonstrates effective organizational skills.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
* Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and parents/community.
* Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with administrators.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Implements the policies and procedures of the District (reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Student Services and the Superintendent of Schools any deviation from adopted procedures, reports in writing to the Assistant Superintendent for Student Services accidents that appear serious in nature or require medical attention).
* Participates in professional growth activities.
* Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility.
* Conducts self at all times as a representative of the school and assists the Superintendent in establishing and maintaining a good relationship with the community.
* Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Student Services, Superintendent, or designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Compensation is according to the certified salary schedule established annually by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated according to board policies and the Warrensburg R-VI adopted model of Performance-Based Teacher Evaluation as per employment classification.
