Faculty within the College of Education support the university's mission of providing student-centered, quality education and are committed to the success of students. Teaching- Prepare and deliver courses in their content areas, ensuring quality instruction and timely evaluation/feedback.
- Maintain discipline expertise and integrate technology through university training.
- Organize courses to facilitate student engagement and high-impact practices.
- Collaborate with department chairs to schedule classes meeting student needs.
- Comply with academic quality and integrity standards.
- Provide office hours in physical and virtual formats, before or after classes.
- Assist with assessment and adjust curriculum based on feedback.
- Author academic writings.
- Present work at conferences (local, state, regional, national).
- Active membership or office holding in professional organizations.
- Attend departmental, college, and university meetings.
- Engage in committee work to advance the department, college, or institution.
- Assist with student recruitment.

- Be knowledgeable of degree program requirements.
- Advise students on academic and non-academic matters (e.g., curriculum mapping, internships, graduate/professional school options, career preparation).
- Provide leadership and promote excellence in student organizations.
- Cultivate a collegial atmosphere with faculty, staff, and administrative levels.
- Respond to student phone calls and email messages in a timely manner.
Education requirement:
Doctorate degree in Library and Information Services or a related field.
The Department of Educational Technology and Library Science in the College of Education at the University of Central Missouri is seeking a full‑time, tenure‑track, nine‑month faculty member for the Master of Library Science (MLS) program at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. The MLS program holds candidacy status by the American Library Association's Committee on Accreditation, with site visit scheduled for Fall 2026.
There are three career pathways: academic librarianship, public librarianship, and school librarianship.
Candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, unofficial transcripts, teaching philosophy, and at least three professional references.
