Graduate Assistant - Criminal Justice and Criminology
Fall 2026, UCMO, Warrensburg, MO – Up to three half‑time (0.5‑hour) positions available.
Responsibilities- Assist faculty with research‑related tasks such as literature reviews, data entry, data analysis, and/or writing and compilation.
- Assist faculty with classroom support including exam proctoring, class coverage, objective assessment grading, or hosting guests.
- Assist the department with outreach and events through planning, facilitating, and hosting, such as the Missouri Western District Court of Appeals, the Chronicle newsletter, and the Criminal Justice Institute.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
- Currently admitted to a UCM graduate degree program.
- 3.0 or higher graduate‑level GPA if previous graduate‑level courses have been taken.
- 2.7 or higher undergraduate‑level GPA if no previous graduate‑level courses have been taken.
Successful candidates will possess skills in:
- Social science research.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Word‑processing, spreadsheet, and digital advertising (fliers, announcements, posters) using Microsoft Office suite.
- Professional appearance and communication skills (required).
- GA Hour Expectations: 10 hours per week.
- Start Date:
08/10/2026. - End Date: 12/11/2026.
- Total Stipend for Semester: $2,475.00.
- Half‑time GAs work ten hours per week, Monday through Friday, on a relatively stable schedule.
- Graduate Assistants are eligible to receive a graduate tuition waiver (and non‑resident tuition waiver, if applicable) and a graduate mandatory fees waiver. The scholarship is applied to graduate‑level courses only; any unused portion is not carried over.
