Chemistry Program Student University Worker
This is a part-time, entry level position in the Chemistry program.
Provide support to Chemistry faculty, students, and staff in the Chemistry Stockroom.
Prepare labs, wash labware, set up/tear down experiments.
Provide service at Stockroom Service Window.
Education
Qualifications:
- Minimum 12 credit hours completed.
- Chemistry majors and minors preferred.
- Must have completed Chem I with a grade of "C" or higher.
- Must be enrolled full-time at UCM for Fall 2025.
- Submit unofficial transcripts and cover letter describing how working in the Chemistry Stockroom will benefit your academic and professional career. Be sure to also include complete contact information, major, year in program, Fall 2025 course schedule, and chemistry courses completed at UCM or elsewhere.
Experience
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail.
- Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal.
- Physical abilities: mobility/strength/dexterity/balance/coordination/endurance.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Human Relations/Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivating.
Working Hours and Days:
- 6-12 hours per week, schedule based on student's enrollment schedule and Stockroom coverage needs.
- Between 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday
Physical and Environmental Factors:
- Excessive standing and/or walking.
- Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals.
- Lifting (weight) up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional temperature fluctuations.
- Dress appropriate for working in a chemistry laboratory including long pants, sleeved shirts, enclosed shoes, as well PPEs including goggles and gloves as necessary, will be required.

Full-time staff & 12-month faculty benefits-eligible position:
