Adjunct Instructor of English Composition

The Department of English at the University of Central Missouri invites applications for an appointment as an Adjunct Instructor of English Composition to teach one or possibly two courses in fall 2026. Faculty in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of Central Missouri support the University's mission of providing a high-quality education and are committed to the success of their students.

Examples of duties include:

• Providing instruction to students enrolled in the Department's program in First-Year English Composition.
• Being available to meet students outside the classroom during office hours and tutorials.
• Timely and fair evaluation and feedback of student progress.
• Complying with all departmental, college, and University standards and regulations.
• Contributing to cultivating a collegial atmosphere when interacting with other University faculty and staff.

Typical qualifications include:

• An M.A. in Rhetoric and Composition, English, or a related field.
• Two years of experience teaching college-level Composition and experience teaching English at the secondary school level.
