Position

Teacher – Agricultural Education

The teacher is responsible for the daily instruction of students and for providing a quality instructional program. This includes planning, delivering lessons, and managing the classroom to foster a positive learning environment.

Essential job functions include:

• Engaging students and promoting active participation.
• Helping students acquire knowledge and skills for gathering, analyzing, and applying information.
• Teaching effective communication skills.
• Guiding students to recognize and solve problems.
• Encouraging responsible decision-making and societal participation.

The teacher also uses assessment to monitor and manage learning:

• Employ ongoing assessments to evaluate instruction effectiveness.
• Provide continuous feedback to students and families.
• Support the development of student self‑assessment abilities.
• Align assessments with district curriculum goals and objectives.
• Use appropriate assessment techniques for diverse student needs.

Preparation and classroom management:

• Demonstrate thorough instructional preparation.
• Select and implement appropriate methodologies and strategies.
• Create a positive learning environment.
• Effectively manage student behavior.

Community interaction:

• Communicate with students, parents, community, and staff in a professional manner.
• Maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships.

Professional development and mission support:

• Engage in professional development aligned with building, district, and state goals.
• Participate in continuous professional growth.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly environment.
• Collaborate on the development and implementation of the district’s vision, mission, and goals.

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• MO teaching certificate in the area of assignment.
• Successful completion of the Missouri Teacher Competency Exam (if applicable).
• Relevant teaching experience commensurate with assignment.

A standard teaching contract is 178 days; extended or part‑time contracts are prorated.

Compensation follows the district salary schedule. Benefits are based on the full‑time equivalent (FTE) employment status.

Performance is evaluated according to board policies and the Warrensburg R‑VI School District Performance Based Teacher Evaluation model.
