- Provide a quality instructional program for special education students.
- Complete teaching duties necessary to the district's educational program.
- Prepare for classroom instruction.
- Implement a variety of effective teaching techniques.

- Tailor instruction to fit learning objectives identified for special needs students.
- Implement instructional objectives effectively.

- Provide evaluative feedback to students.
- Organize classroom to promote learning.
- Manage student behavior constructively.
- Provide modifications in discipline policy for ED students as needed through Individual Education Plans.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Demonstrate patience, respect, and understanding for students.
- Participate in professional growth activities.
- Demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm toward work.
- Follow policies and procedures of the school district.
- Assume out-of-class responsibilities.
- Demonstrate a sense of professional responsibility.
- Supervise volunteers, paraprofessionals, or student interns as assigned.
- Prepare necessary materials for substitutes.
- Participate in staffing of students with special needs.
- Assist with the identification process of special services students.
- Develop Diagnostic Summaries per district requirements.
- Follow special education process and procedure as outlined in the District Compliance Plan.
- Provide information needed for all state and federal reports.
- Conduct oneself appropriately as a representative of the school.
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Missouri teaching certificate in Special Education.
- Prefer experience in classroom teaching and special education experience.
A standard teaching contract is for 178 days; extended or part‑time contracts are prorated from 178 days.
Compensation is according to the teacher salary schedule as established annually by the Board of Education.
All other employee benefits are according to the total FTE of employment for the individual.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated according to board policies and the Warrensburg R–VI School District adopted model of Performance Based Teacher Evaluation.
