Description
PURPOSE STATEMENTThe Sleep Technologist Supervisor is a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). The Sleep Technologist Supervisor promotes and delivers competent, quality care, and is highly experienced in all aspects of Sleep Center operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Responsible for performing daytime sleep testing and EEGs.
- Responsible for assisting with scoring sleep studies.
- Maintain competent performance in all aspects of sleep study acquisition, scoring, and treatment modalities.
- Assist with daily operations of the Sleep Center.
- Adhere to all Sleep Center policies/procedures.
- Practice in accordance to normal sleep center practice, regulatory agencies, and the patient’s plan of care/condition/needs.
- Involved in QA/QI projects as requested.
- Use inventory of supplies judiciously.
- Adhere to equipment cleaning protocols.
- Assist in the evaluation of capital budget item supplies.
- Model the ASPIRE values.
- Proficient in the use of AIDET.
- Assist co-workers as needed/requested.
- Support the Medical Center’s Mission/Vision/Philosophy positively.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other essential duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with appropriate credentials from the BRPT, NBRC, or ABSM.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working as a registered Sleep Technologist is required.
- Experience scoring sleep studies required.
- Experience working in a Sleep Clinic setting is required.
- Experience performing routine EEGs preferred, but not required.
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.
- Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.
- Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
- Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing.
- Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
- Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces.
