SummarySet‑up, maintain, test, and perform minor repairs of all district computers. Assist in the maintenance of the district’s LAN/WAN. Serve as a software specialist and support district staff in the use of computer systems, network services, and computer software throughout the district.
Qualifications- High School graduate with technical aptitude.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and pressure.
- High degree of ethics.
- Capability to work with minimal supervision.
- Preferred experience in education and software use.
- Some college education or equivalent experience.
- Computer Set‑up and Inventory
- Unpack, connect, and test computers, printers, and other peripherals.
- Configure all computers for LAN/WAN access.
- Install and configure operating systems and authorized software.
- Maintain a complete inventory of all district computer hardware and software.
- Disconnect, move, reconnect, and test computers to new locations as needed.
- Computer Maintenance
- Troubleshoot computer and software problems throughout the district.
- Perform minor hardware maintenance and repairs.
- Clean district computers on a scheduled basis.
- Install and test additional hardware when allowed by warranty.
- Maintain a database of requested and scheduled maintenance.
- Network Maintenance
- Assist Director of Technology with network hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Assist Director in managing the active directory of users and devices (Microsoft & Google).
- Assist in monitoring and managing cybersecurity platforms.
- Staff Development
- Guide staff in using system and applications.
- Teach staff technology best practices.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, administrators, and parents/community.
- Understand and encourage the ethical use of technology.
- Other duties as assigned.
Computer/Network technician staff is employed for 261 days. Compensation is according to the non‑certified salary schedule and based upon position category, experience, and years of service. Non‑certified benefits are offered according to full versus part‑time status, as explained in the district’s benefit brochure.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated by the building administrator in cooperation with the manager of information services according to board policies and adopted procedures for support staff members.
