The RoleThe Assistant House Manager is a working supervisor who leads on shift, trains new DSPs, and keeps the household systems running well. You will partner with the House Manager to make Bedford a place where the people we support live full lives and where staff feel supported and capable. This role is the next step toward House Manager.
ScheduleYou pick either Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm, or Monday through Friday, 3pm to 10pm.
You share weekend on-call duty on a rotation.
Schedules are published two weeks in advance.
What You Will Do- Lead and coach DSPs on shift, and model the positive support we expect.
- Train new DSPs in the home and help them build confidence.
- Run the household systems, including documentation, medications, routines, and supplies.
- Support the people who live at Bedford in all service and support needs
- Step in for the House Manager when needed.
- $21.50 to $26.88/hr, paid weekly every Friday.
- Finishing the DMH Certified DSP program moves you into the Certified AHM band, starting at $22.79/hr you also get a $300 bonus and $50 in Recognition Points.
- Merit increases of up to 5% every year on your hire anniversary.
- A $75 attendance bonus every month you have great attendance, plus an extra $150 when you hit three great months in a row.
- Time and a half on 10 holidays, and double time on Christmas Day.
- 150 hours of PTO a year, starting to build from your first week.
- After a year, you can cash out up to 40 hours of PTO each year.
- Health insurance starting the first of the month after 60 days, plus dental, vision, and AFLAC.
- A 401(k) with a safe harbor match of 100% on the first 3% and 50% on the next 2%, once you have 6 months of service.

- We promote from within, and when you move up, your pay goes to the new role's minimum or your current rate plus 5%, whichever is higher.
- At least one year of experience supporting people with developmental disabilities is required to be considered for this role.
- Completion of the DMH Certified DSP program within 90 days of hire is required
- Age 18 or older, with a high school diploma or GED.
- A valid driver's license
- The ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
