Join Our Team as an IT - Data Scientist and Drive Innovation in Healthcare Data Science. Temp To Hire | 100% Remote. Are you passionate about transforming healthcare through data? We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist to lead and support cutting-edge data science projects that impact patient care and operational excellence. This critical role offers an exciting opportunity to harness advanced analytics, develop innovative solutions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve health outcomes and system performance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead discovery sessions with clinical and business stakeholders to gather requirements and shape analytic strategies.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and refine statistical models and advanced analytics to support key initiatives aligned with the Quadruple Aim.
  • Build scalable Analytics-As-A-Service dashboards, real-time reports, and customized data visualizations that enhance decision-making.
  • Integrate and analyze diverse data sources, including electronic health records, insurance claims, financial data, and social determinants of health.
  • Collaborate with IT on data architecture, supporting clinical integration and bringing disparate datasets into analytics-ready repositories.
  • Monitor operational performance and value-based care programs, providing insights that drive financial and quality improvements.
  • Develop deployment interfaces such as provider portals, websites, or mobile apps for seamless analytics delivery.
  • Create supporting documentation and tools to empower analysts and operational leaders across the organization.
  • Mentor colleagues, promote collaboration, and foster a learning environment that advances data science capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with all policies, standards, and PHI requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and best practices in healthcare analytics.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Sociology, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in complex analytics or big data environments.
  • Proven expertise in statistics, geospatial analytics, report automation, and ETL development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, seaborn) or R (e.g., caret, ggplot2).
  • Strong SQL query writing and relational database experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.
  • Exceptional data visualization skills and ability to communicate insights effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing strategic, high-visibility projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Healthcare data understanding, including EHR systems like Epic and Allscripts, coding, and claims data.
