The New Grad RN Resident in the Progressive Care Step Down Unit at Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital provides exceptional patient care in a supportive environment. This role is ideal for recent nursing graduates looking to develop their skills in a Magnet‑designated facility.

• Assist fellow caregivers with providing exceptional care to patients from initial introduction to discharge.
• Interact directly with patients, families, and visitors to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education.
• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care based on acuity of need, patient preference, and resource availability.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce, or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience:

• New grad or less than one year of RN work experience required.
• Experience RN moving from non‑inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year of current acute direct patient care RN experience.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross required.
