Adjunct Faculty - Humanities and Social Science

Laurel Ridge Community College is accepting applications for adjunct, part-time faculty (day, evening and weekend) positions for a humanities and social science adjunct. Adjunct Faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Responsibilities include teaching college level courses, which may include distance learning on and off campus courses during the day, evening and weekends. This position will be located on the Middletown Campus, Fauquier Campus, and Luray-Page County Center as needed.

applicants must reside in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland or DC. Humanities and Social Science includes but is not limited to:
Arts, Education, English, Economics, History, Psychology, Philosophy, Spanish, Speech/Drama and Sociology. Applicants should possess a Master's degree, have eighteen graduate semester hours in the discipline/prefix specific to the class, and a history of successful teaching or related experience. Certain developmental or technical courses may be taught by instructors with a Bachelor's degree, a special certification, and/or work experience. Adjunct/Continuing Education Faculty:
The rate per credit hour will commensurate with education and relevant or teaching experience. The position is part time and as such is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.
