Strides Therapy & Educational Services is a leading local provider of contract therapy and educational services dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of students in schools across Virginia. We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Educator to join our team. The Special Educator will work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
This position requires strong communication skills, empathy, and a passion for helping students reach their full potential.
As a Special Educator at Strides Therapy & Educational Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational journey of students with diverse learning needs. Collaborating closely with a team of fellow Special Educators, your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored support to enhance students' communication and language development within educational settings across Virginia.
- Individualized Instruction:
Develop and implement customized instructional plans to meet the unique needs of each student, focusing on communication and language skills. - Collaborative Teamwork:
Work collaboratively with other Special Educators and educational professionals to ensure a cohesive support system for students. - Progress Monitoring:
Regularly assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to promote growth and achievement. - Communication:
Maintain open and effective communication with students, families, and school staff to facilitate student success and address any concerns or challenges. - Professional Development:
Stay current with best practices and research in special education to enhance your skills and knowledge continuously.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field. Current Virginia Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement appropriate to the assigned grade level and instructional setting, or eligibility to obtain Virginia licensure. Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, specially designed instruction, and behavior management strategies. Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
Expected Hours per week: 7.5 hours a day; 37.5
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid and current certification as a Special Educator in Virginia. (if applicable)
- Educator Certificate (if applicable)
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Dedication to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of special education.
