We are currently seeking highly qualified CH-47F Standardization Instructor Pilots (SIPs) to support current and future Training Assistance Field Team (TAFT) programs worldwide. This position is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced U.S. Army Chinook aviator to continue serving the aviation community by providing advanced flight instruction, standardization, evaluation, and mentorship to international CH-47F aircrews.

Position Summary

The CH-47F Standardization Instructor Pilot (SIP) serves as a senior aviation training and standardization advisor responsible for maintaining and improving flight training, standardization, evaluation, and operational proficiency among CH-47F aircrews.

Working directly alongside international partner-nation aviation personnel, the SIP will provide subject matter expertise, flight instruction, mentorship, evaluation, and technical guidance in accordance with applicable U.S. Army aviation doctrine, regulations, technical publications, and established training standards.

The successful candidate will assist in developing and sustaining CH-47F pilot proficiency, instructor and evaluator capabilities, crew coordination, aviation safety, and operational readiness while promoting sound U.S. Army aviation standards and best practices.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as a senior CH-47F Standardization Instructor Pilot Advisor to FMS partner nations.
  • Provide advanced CH-47F flight instruction to pilots and aircrew in both classroom and aircraft environments.
  • Mentor and develop international CH-47F Instructor Pilots (IPs) and Standardization Instructor Pilots (SIPs), as applicable to the assigned program.
  • Conduct and support standardization and evaluation activities to assess pilot and aircrew proficiency.
  • Advise partner-nation aviation leadership on flight training programs, qualification requirements, continuation training, and aircrew standardization.
  • Provide instruction and evaluation on aircraft systems, emergency procedures, flight maneuvers, crew coordination, and operational procedures.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining standardized CH-47F flight training programs.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of training programs, lesson plans, syllabi, academic materials, and evaluation standards.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to international instructor and evaluator pilots.
  • Assist partner-nation aviation organizations in establishing effective standardization and evaluation programs.
  • Evaluate pilot and aircrew performance and provide constructive feedback and corrective instruction.
  • Identify training deficiencies and develop appropriate corrective training and remediation plans.
  • Advise aviation leadership on training effectiveness, aircrew proficiency, standardization, safety, and operational readiness.
  • Support aviation safety programs, risk management, accident prevention, and mishap-reduction initiatives.
  • Provide instruction on crew coordination, cockpit procedures, risk management, and aviation decision-making.
  • Assist partner-nation personnel in developing sustainable instructor pilot, evaluator pilot, and standardization programs.
  • Support pilot qualification, progression, continuation, and mission-oriented training requirements.
  • Assist with developing and implementing aircrew training and evaluation policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance on the proper interpretation and application of applicable technical manuals, regulations, aviation publications, and training requirements.
  • Assist with identifying recurring training deficiencies and developing corrective actions to improve aircrew proficiency and safety.
  • Advise aviation leadership on the effectiveness of training and evaluation programs and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with the development of academic presentations, practical exercises, flight training materials, and evaluation tools.
  • Promote aviation safety, standardization, training discipline, and technical compliance throughout all advisory activities.
  • Support aircraft fielding, acceptance, modernization, modification, and operational sustainment activities as required.
  • Conduct training and advisory activities in accordance with applicable U.S. Army regulations, technical manuals, aviation publications, safety requirements, and program directives.
